Our Journey

From Vision to Launch

2024

Phase 1: The Spark

The Vision

Project Lead Anjelica Catling crafted the initial proposal for the St. Joseph DEO, identifying a vital need to merge cultural pride with disaster preparedness.

Securing Support

A strategic partnership was formed with the UWI DRRC and the Department of Emergency Management (DEM), securing the grant and resources necessary to begin the journey.

Nov 2024 to Ongoing

Phase 2: Community Engagement

Unearthing the Stories

Community Roadshow in November 2025 was the initial catalyst followed by extensive research was conducted to document the "untapped" history of our parish.

Data Mapping

Simultaneously, hazard and resilience data were mapped, ensuring every tour stop offers life-saving information alongside its historical narrative.

July to Dec 2025

Phase 3: Digital Architecture

Building the Platform

A talented team of University of the West Indies (UWI) students joins the mission. They begin designing the website to bring the project alive.

February 2026

Phase 4: The Launch

Going Live

The physical QR codes are installed, the Virtual Map is activated, and the "Unveiling Our Legacy" tour officially opens to the public—fostering a more informed, engaged, and resilient St. Joseph.
